Want a zoom at three seconds? Just type that into the text box. Need captions added? Done in a snap. You can even type a vibe you’re going for, and our AI editing tools will apply the right style and aesthetic to bring it to life. No learning curve, and no special expertise required. If you know how to type, now you know how to edit.

Editing has long been the most complicated part of making a video. Now, it’s the easiest. Think ChatGPT for video editing: Just type a prompt into the box, and Mirage’s AI model kicks in to make it happen.
Edits are fast, with most changes applied under 10 seconds. Whether you’re making simple edits like adding music or looking to match a certain vibe, Captions can do it for you.
How it works
Try the new chat-based editor for free in the Captions app. Here’s how to find it:
- Choose your video: Generate new footage in Captions or upload existing footage.
- Open your project in the editor: Once there, you’ll see a text box at the bottom of the screen. Start typing requests in that text box to trigger the chat functionality.
- Optimize for your needs: Edits are applied in seconds. You can use additional prompts to keep refining results. Once you’re done, just click “export” to download your video.
In early testing, we’ve seen all kinds of edits take shape. Some of the most popular changes include commands like adding transitions, changing caption style and adding zoom effects for key moments.
We’re also seeing people dream big, with more abstract prompts like creating specific aesthetics or changing backgrounds entirely. For example, the cooking influencer who added captions to make sure people had the right amounts per ingredient. The spa owner who wanted a “plant aesthetic” vibe. Or the doctor adding B-roll and images to help amp up their social presence.
